Michelle is a Gangalidda / Tagalaka woman from the Gulf country in Queensland. Her mum was born and raised on Mapoon Mission in western Cape York.
Michelle has held senior roles across the finance & retail sectors, predominantly in the HR profession. She was previously the Head of Talent & Reward at AXA Asia Pacific. During her time at AXA, Michelle was provided opportunities across the globe including across Asia and Paris. At Bunnings, Michelle was the Head of Remuneration before her appointment as the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Affairs Manager at Bunnings. Her primary focus is to drive the social and economic inclusion and of First Nations Australians across Bunnings Group.Â
Michelle sits on various Boards of not-for-profit organisations including Global Sisters, who support financial empowerment of women. She holds a Bachelor of Business and a Bachelor of Computer Science.
