Ashanthi has 10 years of experience in the Queensland Public Service, Ministerial Offices and the legal industry.  She is currently the Manager for Policy Design in the Taskforce Response Unit, which leads and coordinates strategic and operational responses to the Women’s Safety and Justice Taskforce on behalf of Courts and Tribunals in the Department of Justice and Attorney-General.  She has significant experience working in the Magistrates Courts Services’ Courts Innovation Program, having led policy development for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Justice Programs, along with other Specialist Courts and Programs. She has previously worked in the Office of the Assistant Director-General of Indigenous Education and prior to that was a Policy Advisor in the Ministerial Offices of the former Minister Kate Jones and Minister Grace Grace, advising on education policy and the Commonwealth Games.  Ashanthi was admitted as a Solicitor in Queensland in 2014.
