Allan has a long standing career with the Western Australia Police Force, commencing as a Constable in 1986, working in various Metropolitan and Regional locations. Whilst progressing his career, he has worked in a number of locations including Officer in Charge of Stirling and Perth Police Stations; Superintendent in Charge of the Internal Affairs Unit, North West Metropolitan District and Kimberley District; Regional WA Commander and the Assistant Commissioner of the Metropolitan Region.

Allan’s current role as Deputy Commissioner, since September 2022, oversights the operations of the 15 Police Districts across the State along with the Operations Support Portfolio which includes the Family Violence Division.

Allan’s focus on Police responses to Family Violence has been developed over his career, performing and oversighting frontline duties across both Metropolitan and Regional WA. His leadership of family violence responses, whilst the Superintendent of the Kimberley District, embedded the clear need for all components of the FV response to share information and work cohesively, respectful of each parties’ responsibilities.

In his role as Deputy Commissioner, Allan continues to work within WA Police and with external agencies and service providers to strengthen FV system response within our community.
