Danielle Heatley is an authentic and passionate educational leader with over 25 years’ experience across teaching and leadership, both in Australia and overseas. She is the founding Principal of Balambalam Primary School in Clyde North, opening in 2026, and previously led Karoo Primary School as Principal. Before that, she held several Assistant Principal roles, leading whole-school improvement through evidence-based practice, instructional leadership, and strong community partnerships.
Danielle’s career has included teaching in London, the Cook Islands, and Europe, broadening her perspective on global education and inclusion. She holds a Master’s in Educational Leadership, attended the Harvard Principals’ School in Sydney, and regularly engages in professional learning through the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership, including Women in Leadership and Women Leading Globally.
As a principal, Danielle is deeply committed to inclusion that meets the needs of all learners, strategically building systems and culture so that every child’s right to belong and learn is embedded in all aspects of school life. Her leadership is guided by Balambalam’s motto, “Seen. Supported. Successful.”, reflecting her belief that all learners, students, staff, and the wider community, should feel valued and able to grow together in a culture of excellence.
