Born and raised in Adelaide and graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1991 with an Honours degree in Law and a Bachelor of Arts specialising in philosophy and politics.
Her early career was spent working in private legal practice followed by Government legal work at the Crown Solicitor’s Office. She then undertook various legal policy roles in Environment and Heritage and Consumer Affairs between 1998 and 2006..
She then returned to the CSO as an Executive Solicitor and in 2013, she was promoted to lead the Public Law Section. This role included advising the Attorney-General on the powers of Parliamentary Committees and establishing Royal Commissions. She was appointed Crown Solicitor in 2017 overseeing an office of 280 staff, before being appointed later that year to the Supreme Court and as President of SACAT.Â
