Leading change in your organisation: A toolkit for queer leaders and allies

This workshop centres the individual as a powerful agent and advocate for change in your organisation. We will explore relevant current social and political trends that impact your ability to lead as an internal changemaker, and provide participants with the opportunity to explore the level of support and/or resistance in their own organisations. There will be a deep dive into the different approaches to advocacy and the effectiveness or otherwise of those approaches. What works? What doesn’t and why? Drawing on the facilitator’s long-term personal experience as a campaigner and advocate – and on research and evidence from a range of fields, including neuropsychology, leadership, community organising, and mental health. The session is carefully designed to be welcoming, affirming and psychologically safe for both queer and non-queer people.

Attend & learn

  • Understand current community trends and outcomes, including ‘Minority Stress’ and structural resilience
  • Identify where your organisation currently sits on a scale of LGBTIQ inclusion and cultural safety
  • Learn evidence-based tools and strategies for engaging and overcoming resistance in your organisation
