Alex is the Executive Director, Programs & Innovation at the NSW EPA.

In this role, Alex leads teams that deliver impactful, data-driven programs and foster innovation pathways. Key programs in this portfolio include Return & Earn, Food Organics and Garden Organics (FOGO), and a range of programs that support stewardship, waste avoidance, resource recovery and climate change actions. These programs are enabled by functions dedicated to excellence in environmental intelligence, analytics and digital innovation. Alex’s focus is on developing strong partnerships with stakeholders to drive outcomes that support the circular economy, a sustainable future and improve human health.​

Prior to joining the EPA, Alex held many senior executive roles across government, including in digital delivery, designing community-focused initiatives and leading strategy, advocacy and communications functions. She had responsibility at Service NSW to establish a new Division to drive improved customer experiences in the face of disasters and created a centre of excellence in fraud mitigation which prevented more than $200m in fraudulent grant payments. Alex previously held roles advising Premiers and Ministers across a range of portfolios and started her career as a corporate lawyer for an international law firm.

Alex has a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing) / Laws and Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. She is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
