Amanda Schimke is an Assistant Principal at St Columban’s College in Caboolture, Queensland, with a strong focus on Curriculum Leadership, Vocational Education and Training (VET), and whole-school improvement. She is committed to evidence-informed practice, leading initiatives that enhance teaching quality, student engagement, and learning outcomes across Years 7–12.
Amanda has played a key role in driving explicit teaching practices, literacy and numeracy improvement initiatives, and collaborative professional learning structures. She is currently working alongside the Australian Education Research Organisation (AERO) in the Brisbane Catholic Education Partner project on implementation of school improvement in the area of numeracy and explicit teaching practices.  Her work also includes ensuring curriculum alignment and compliance with system and accreditation requirements.
Currently completing a Master of Educational Leadership, Amanda brings a thoughtful and reflective approach to leadership, underpinned by a strong commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing. She is passionate about empowering teachers, fostering collaboration, and placing students at the centre of all decision-making.
