Aranza is a Senior Scientist and Strategic Policy Advisor at the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW). During her time at DCCEEW, she has worked across the Environment, Water, and Energy groups, applying her extensive scientific knowledge and strategic insights to support government objectives and initiatives. Aranza also served as the Director of the DCCEEW CALD Sprint project, leading efforts to engage and include culturally and linguistically diverse communities within DCCEEW and the broader Australian Public Service (APS).
Before joining the APS, Aranza gained valuable experience working in the mineral exploration sector, both in Australia and internationally, as a key member of BHP’s Core Geoscientific Group.
Aranza holds multiple academic qualifications, including degrees in Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Geology, and a Master of Science in Earth Sciences. Her diverse educational background and professional experience enable her to bridge the gap between scientific research and policy development effectively.
