Arman Abrahimzadeh is an experienced Board Director, having served as a director on a number of not-for-profit boards in South Australia, including Zahra Foundation Australia of which he is also a Co-founder. As a graduate of University of South Australia’s School of Architecture & Design, Arman currently works as an Assistant Development Manager at Housing Choices, a national Tier 1 community housing provider. He has spent almost 15 years in the design and construction sector, including operating his own design & construction firm.
As a family and domestic violence prevention advocate, Arman regularly speaks on the topics of healthy relationships and early warning signs in abusive relationships in Australia and Papua New Guinea.
Arman was first elected as a Councillor at the City of Adelaide in 2018 and served as the Deputy Lord Mayor in 2022. In addition to his work at Housing Choices and the City of Adelaide, Arman serves on numerous Advisory Committees including the Advisory Group for the SA Royal Commission into Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence. He is a regular media commentator, speaking about local government matters as well as family and domestic violence, and in his spare time he enjoys exploring Adelaide with his two children and wife Genevieve.
