Col Blanch joined the Western Australia Police Force in June 2018 as Assistant Commissioner, State Intelligence and Command. In March 2019 he was appointed Deputy Commissioner and on 15 July 2022 was appointed as the 29th Police Commissioner. As Deputy Commissioner he was responsible for Frontline Policing, State Crime and State Intelligence. Prior to commencing with the WA Police Force, Mr Blanch worked for Victoria Police, the Australian Crime Commission and the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission. He has a wealth of national and international experience dealing with serious organised crime.
