Devora was born in New York City and obtained her Medical Degree from The State University of New York. She completed her obstetrics and gynaecology residency training in Washington, DC, and then obtained her Masters of Public Health from Harvard University.
In 1997, she was part of the faculty practice at one of the Harvard hospitals when her university sweetheart came back into her life and she made the move to Australia. “There’s no surf in Boston Harbour,” he told her. From 1998 through to 2003, she held a number of senior positions in Women’s Health, Sexual Health and Fertility-related organisations.
In 2003, she became an accredited doctor at Sydney IVF (now Genea) where she also worked on staff and was integral in founding the very successful Miscarriage Management program, which assess and treats couples experiencing recurrent miscarriage.
In 2019, Devora joined City Fertility as Clinical Director. With over 20 years of experience in reproductive medicine and performing more than 5,000 IVF cycles, Devora has helped thousands of couples and individuals.
She is passionate about women’s health and as an acknowledged fertility specialist is very active outside of the practice. Devora was a Director of Family Planning NSW for 12 years, and served as its President for most of those. She was a Director of the Fertility Society of Australia for 8 years. Devora often writes and speaks about fertility-related issues to professional as well as consumer audiences.
