I have a doctorate in medicine/legal background and consult for a leading medical practice that specializes in gynaecology and fertility.
The independent registry ‘Your IVF Success,’ comparing the country’s 85 accredited fertility centres reveals that our clinic ‘Genea Elements Wollongong,’ is one of the best IVF teams in Australia.
1st in Australia (2023) for live birth rates by helping patients successfully make and bring home a baby.
During my PhD, I was part of a clinical trial team using a novel electrophoretic sperm separating technique for IVF, that lead to the world’s first live birth using the technique and an Oxford University Press publication.
I am also deeply concerned about the disparities in our legal system and help facilitate equal access to justice to marginalized people, particularly as over-representation is a persistent and growing problem for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander’s incarceration rates. My interests are in coronial, health and criminal law in a social justice, human rights context.
The National Justice Project (‘NJP’) uses evidence-based advocacy, and strategic litigation at various court levels/jurisdictions, and acted against the Cth for their mistreatment of refugees/people seeking asylum and for their systemic failure to protect First Nations people’s right to life at the UN ICPPR, through the courageous voice of the Dungay family via the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement.
Our team assisted families speak their truth and demands for accountability at the ‘Swan River Inquest’ in Perth; the Royal Commission into Disability for First Nations children in out-of-home care, and for a test case AYX18 v Minister for Home Affairs regarding the ‘duty of care’ question towards refugees and people seeking asylum the Australian government transfers to Nauru and Manus Island.
In Dec 2022, AYX18 won preliminary arguments in the Federal Court of Australia to allow evidence of witnesses and whistle-blowers to remain.
In July 2022, I was approached by Zeiler Floyd Zadkovich (‘ZFZ’) and met the team in London to become ZFZ’s Pro Bono Leader, aiming to link our global offices in New York, London, Vienna, Houston, Chicago and Sydney, to be one dedicated pro bono department with a strong charitable service ethos.
We aim to assist humanitarian aid organizations and people who may not be able to afford legal representation.
