Associate Professor Vinay Lakra is the Divisional Director of Mental Health Services at Northern Health (NH), Melbourne. He is the immediate past President of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP). Previously he was a Board member of the Victorian Board of Medical Board of Australia and also worked as the Deputy Chief Psychiatrist of Victoria. He also worked as Clinical Director at North Western Mental Health of the Royal Melbourne Hospital for more than 10 years. Associate Professor Lakra has worked in a variety of clinical settings and currently leads the development of the mental health services at Northern Health, serving a large and diverse population. His work is driven by data analytics, has significant expertise in health policy and has a keen interest in alternate models of care.
