Henry Lockyer is a proud Banyjima man from the Pilbara region of Western Australia, with strong family connections to the Ngarluma, Yindjibarndi, and Bunuba Peoples. Based in South Hedland, Henry is a dedicated leader and advocate for Aboriginal empowerment, community development, and cultural leadership. Henry has successfully led and supported initiatives that strengthen opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Henry’s work focuses on Training & Employment programs, leadership development, and culturally informed workforce strategies and he is passionate about working collaboratively with Native Title Partners to enhance economic and employment pathways for Aboriginal communities.
Henry is deeply engaged in governance and advocacy, serving as Chair of North Regional TAFE’s Aboriginal Training Advisory Group, Vice Chairperson of Bloodwood Tree Association, and a member of the WA Department of Justice Aboriginal Justice Advisory Committee. A passionate supporter of education, he contributes to the Department of Education’s Aboriginal Advisory Body and the Hedland Senior High School Board. A strong advocate for generational change, Henry is committed to fostering leadership, self-determination, and culturally safe workplaces.
