Jackie Wruck is the Safe & Together Institute Asia Pacific Regional Manager. Jackie has extensive knowledge of diverse sectors such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, High Risk Teams, Housing and homelessness, Child Protection, counselling and advocacy of women who experience Domestic and Family Violence.  She has worked with the Safe & Together Model (in various Government and non-Governmental sectors) and has a deep knowledge and understanding of DFV in context of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, and her own lived experience.  

Jackie was part of the first group of Safe & Together Model Certified Trainers in Australia in 2017. She’s been involved with numerous research projects involving the Safe & Together Model and was the cultural lead for the Walking With Dad’s program in Queensland, which is grounded in the Safe & Together model. She has been invited to speak on DFV, the Safe & Together Model and working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families in a culturally safe way in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.

This does not state what mob I am connected to. My mob is Yidinji in Far North Queensland 45 mins south of Cairns in a place called Yarrabah. This is on my fathers’ side. My mum is from the Tablelands and we are not sure which mob she is connected to due to her upbringing and isolation from her family etc.
