Jane Chen is the daughter of Chinese immigrants, born and raised as a settler on unceded Wurundjeri lands. She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne, where she is exploring how intersectionality is being understood and applied in policymaking by public servants in Victoria. Professionally, she is herself a public servant working in social policy, with expertise in gender equality, multicultural affairs, and strategic planning. She is also a writer, public speaker and non-executive director, and has held various advocacy and advisory roles across the youth and multicultural sectors.
