Jane Pires is the Energy and Water Ombudsman (EWOQ) and the Land Access Ombudsman (LAO) for Queensland. The EWOQ team help energy and water customers who are having problems with their energy or water providers, including high bills, disconnections or access to hardship assistance, rebates and concessions and the LAO team help Landholder and Resource companies who have disputes with Agreements on Coal Seam Gas and mineral exploration. 

With more than 30 years’ experience in customer service and complaint management, Jane is also an executive committee member of the Australian and New Zealand Ombudsman Association (the peak body for ombudsmen in Australia and New Zealand),

 the Chair of the Queensland chapter of the Thriving Communities Australia, the Chair of the Australia Standards Committee for Complaints Handling Standards AS 10002, and is the Australian Representative  on the international standard committee for complaints handling guidelines.
