Karuna Gurung has more than 22 years’ experience as an award-winning media and communication professional working in a diverse range of organisations in the public and private sectors, in Australia and overseas. She currently leads the talented media and social media teams at the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) and is also the CALD Network Chair. A self-confessed “recovering people pleaser”, Karuna proudly draws on her lived experience as a woman of colour to lead with empathy and compassion.
