Kieryn Bateman has been the Director of Learning at Loreto Normanhurst since 2016.  She is a dedicated and passionate educator who believes that a values-based education is pivotal in tackling social inequity and global injustice.  Kieryn commenced at Loreto in 2014 as the Dean of Learning, preceded by her role as a Leader of Pedagogy in Sydney Catholic Schools.  During her time as a Leader of Pedagogy (2012-2014) she worked to implement system-change to enhance the literacy and numeracy outcomes for students in low-socioeconomic areas of Sydney. Prior to this leadership role, Kieryn worked as the Head of English at Trinity Catholic College in Auburn/Regents Park, leading a thriving and highly committed team of English teachers.  She commenced her career in education as an English and History teacher, a role that allowed her to share her passion for reading, research and literature with her students.  She has a Master of Arts (English Literature) and a Master of Teaching (Honours) from the University of Sydney along with a Master of Educational Leadership from the Australian Catholic University.
