Since 2021, Leah Olsson has been Vice-President of the Queensland Teachers’ Union (QTU), representing over 48,000 teachers and education leaders in Queensland state schools and TAFE institutes.
With more than 20 years of experience, Leah has worked as a music teacher and held various leadership roles across metropolitan and regional Queensland. Her extensive career includes positions as a student engagement teacher, head of curriculum, deputy principal, and assessor for highly accomplished and lead teachers. She is the current chair of the QTU’s Women Teachers and Girls’ Education Committee.
Leah also served as a board member of the Queensland College of Teachers and the Queensland Community Alliance.
