Louisa is a proud Torres Strait Islander who is passionate about working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and non-Indigenous organisations to create positive outcomes for her community.
She has had the privilege of working on the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games as a Program Manager in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Programs team in the Department of Innovation, Tourism Industry Development and the Commonwealth Games. During this time, she was responsible for developing the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), a first RAP of its kind in Commonwealth Games history and a first for a major sporting event in Australia.
Her experience within the Queensland Government extends over 15 years, where she has managed and delivered a range of social and economic development projects in remote, regional and urban Indigenous communities across Queensland.
Louisa is an active volunteer, dedicating her time to give back to her community. She is a current committee member of the Teralba Park Stolen Generations Support Committee, a volunteer group dedicated to raise awareness and promote reconciliation and healing through National Sorry Day events.
