Mary-Ann is a Social Worker with significant experience in working with children, young people and families who have experienced abuse related trauma and family violence. She has a particular interest in using narrative, relational, strengths and sensorimotor based approaches in supporting children, young people and their families to heal from, and reconnect, following their experiences of abuse and violence. 

Mary-Ann has worked at the Australian Childhood Foundation for 18 years.  For the last 8 years, Mary-Ann has held the role of Therapeutic Services Victoria Program Manager at the Foundation, during which time she has helped establish and lead therapeutic family violence teams, therapeutic care teams and teams working in the education space in both metropolitan and regional Victoria.  Prior to joining the Australian Childhood Foundation, Mary-Ann worked in out of home care and child protection.

Mary-Ann had a significant role in the research and development of the Safe and Secure Practice Framework, which has become an important educational and practice tool in the Victorian family violence sector. She has also had an active role in family violence workforce development, through the provision of supervision, training and reflective practice. 

Mary-Ann is a sitting member of the Eastern Regional Family Violence Partnership’s Implementation Committee and the Eastern Region Family Violence Partnership’s Therapeutic Working Group.
