Meagan is a seasoned CEO, corporate affairs and communications professional with over 25 years of experience working across a broad range of corporate, not-for-profit and public service organisations at the highest levels.
Meagan brings to Nexus APAC a wealth of skills, including developing and implementing strategic plans, several ‘whole of government’ plans, wide-ranging stakeholder consultation and engagement with the highest levels of Government and public service. In addition, she has extensive skills in communication strategy development, issues management, media and communications and board experience.
Prior to joining Nexus, Meagan was the CEO of the Council on the Ageing (COTA) NSW, where she was directly accountable to the Board and responsible for all business operations.
Additional senior leadership positions Meagan has held include as;
- Manager, Ageing Team for the Department of Family and Community Services in NSW
- General Manager, Communications and Public Relations for Fitness Australia
- Manager, Corporate Affairs for NPS MedicineWise
As well as holding positions with the;
- National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), and
- Cancer Council NSW
With a lengthy commitment to political engagement, Meagan possesses a strong relationship with and understanding of the current Government, having worked as an advisor to the Hon. Mark Butler, whilst he was Minister for Aged Care in the previous Labor Government. Additionally, Meagan ran as a supporting Australian Labor Party candidate in the 2021 City of Sydney Council elections.
Meagan was elected as the youngest councillor to the Hawkesbury City Council. Her involvement in Committees and Boards is also evident from her elected participation in Western Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (WSROC), Wentworth Area Health Service and the NSW Local Government and Shires Association.
