Mechelle Turvey is a Noongar-Yamatji woman, and is currently the Assistant Director Aboriginal Affairs Division at the Western Australia Police Force. Mechelle is a compassionate, award-winning community outreach professional highly regarded for providing quality service and compassionate support, spanning over 25 years particularly within the Aboriginal community. In 2024, Mechelle was named Western Australia’s Australian of the Year.
