Michele is Clinical Director of Preventing Harm Initiative (PHI) and is experienced in the implementation of clinical governance at an organisational and governing body level to achieve excellence in care delivery, quality standard compliance and supportive work environments for staff.
She advises and teaches clinical governance internationally and promotes the use of lean, human factor informed systems to simplify the achievement of effective clinical governance.
Her experience includes leading the risk management service for tertiary hospitals, the oversight of medico-legal cases, complaints systems, root cause analyses, open disclosure, credentialing processes, staff performance issues, clinical governance committees and governing bodies. Her skills are simplifying what appears complicated into an easily understandable and useable format.
Michele holds qualifications in health service management and nursing. Her background includes senior leadership positions in hospital and health service administration, in addition to the management of serious incidents and complaints in the regulatory space.
