Nyssa Murray is a proud Dunghutti women from the mid-north coast of New South Wales and was born and raised in the Dharawal nation on the South Coast of NSW, she holds a deep commitment to improving First Nations representation in the workplace. With an extensive background in Human Resources working with executive management, her career journey includes national, state and regional strategic management roles focusing on enhancing her understanding of best practice across various work types. Nyssa holds the inaugural role of Manager, First Nations at BlueScope Steel, where she leads initiatives to grow and support the representation, engagement, and inclusion of First Nations people across the business. Her expertise lies in developing and implementing frameworks and strategies that delve into the nuances between Western and First Nations culture and perspectives, fostering positive workplace environments. Nyssa is a co-author of the published book title ‘The Promotion of Education: A Critical Cultural Social Marketing Approach’ and is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Wollongong. Her research thesis focuses on ‘how to’ improve cultural diversity in the workplace, underpinning her dedication to drive generational change through academia and workplace practical application.
