Dr Paul Cahill is the Executive Director of the Curriculum Reform division at the New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA). Paul has been leading Curriculum Reform for the past three years which is the biggest overhaul of the education system in more than 30 years.

Paul has over 35 years’ experience as a history teacher and a leader in Secondary and K-12 coeducational, girls and boys schools in the Catholic and Independent school sectors. He has also worked closely with the three school systems and with ACARA on a range of projects. He has worked at NESA for five years. Paul came to NESA from Sydney Catholic Schools where he was Head of Secondary Curriculum, a senior executive role he held for eight years, and during which time he was a member of the NESA Assessment Committee. Paul has expert knowledge in K-12 curriculum development at both the Australian and NSW level and works very closely with a wide range of stakeholder groups.
