Philippa Kirwan is the Dean of Learning Diversity at Mazenod College Victoria, where she is responsible for developing and overseeing inclusive strategies and interventions in literacy, numeracy and wellbeing for students with disabilities from Years 7-12. She has considerable experience developing whole school approaches to inclusivity, English language education and wellbeing. Previous roles include Director of Student Wellbeing, in country Victoria, Head of English in two International Baccalaureate schools in China, Education Advisor and Teacher Mentor at the Dubai Ministry of Education and Education Advisor at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne. Philippa’s combined experience as a mental health counsellor and teacher in Australia and overseas informs her understanding of diverse learner profiles. She has a keen interest in utilising data to inform decision making in the design of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). Philippa holds a Masters of Education, and was the recipient of the Monash Vice-Chancellor’s Commendation for Masters Thesis Excellence, as well as Graduate Diplomas in both education and counselling, a Bachelor of Arts and is currently completing a Masters of Inclusive Education.
