Dr Don Carter is Deputy Head of School in the School of International Studies at UTS. He specialises in working with teachers to investigate innovative writing pedagogies to improve student performance and outcomes not only in English, but across the curriculum. Don is able to draw on his work in schools not only as a researcher but also from his experiences as a former classroom English teacher, head of department and as an ESL consultant with primary and secondary schools in southwestern Sydney as well as English Inspector at the NSW Educational Standards Authority.
