Over the past 9 years, Sam has dedicated his working profession in the drug and alcohol and complex disability fields to support vulnerable people to repair relationships, rebuild their confidence and self-esteem to live a healthy and safe life in their communities. The combination of Sam’s clinical practice in conjunction with his bachelor degree in psychology and social science plays a key role in his current role as Manager of Specialist Family Violence Services at Kids First Australia. Sam’s portfolios consist of overseeing two programs: the Northern Healing and Recovery Program, which approaches therapeutic recovery work through the mother/child relationship in group and individual settings. Caring Dads program, which works with fathers who have used family violence in a group setting and aims to increase the safety of women and children. Sam is passionate about enhancing the safety of women and children through his work and hopes to continue to innovate service design and delivery.
