Michael Kirby is an icon for LGBTQIA+ leadership in Australia. Openly gay since 1984, he led a trailblazing career to the High Court of Australia, and earned a reputation as ‘the great dissenter’ by constantly questioning the philosophies and perspectives of his fellow office-holders. Kirby later presided over the UN Report into North Korean Human Rights Abuses and, among many other accolades, was awarded the Australian Human Rights Medal. In this keynote,. Michael will reflect on a stellar career in the law, the importance of living to your values and the power of being your true self.
