The Boys in Schools Conference: Behaviour, Wellbeing & What Works

Addressing what's really going on for boys - and what schools can do about it

Something is shifting in Australian schools.

Boys are withdrawing, acting out, or switching off – and the causes aren’t random. Outdated masculine norms, algorithms, and a widening gap between how we talk to boys and what they actually need are colliding in classrooms every day.

Those closest to those boys are doing extraordinary work with limited tools and almost no space to stop, think, and connect with others facing the same challenges.

This isn’t a day of passive presentations. It’s built around experience, intentional intervention, and shared problem-solving with people who get it.  It’s your chance to have critical conversations about what needs to happen at your school to change the trajectory of student behaviour and outcomes.

This event runs as part of the ‘National Engaging Men & Boys to End the Cycle of Violence’ conference. You’ll be joining a larger room of educators, professionals and advocates all there for the same reason – better outcomes for boys.

The issues won’t wait, and neither should you.
