Serving the Future of Initial Teacher Education
Reshaping initial teacher education to prepare beginning teachers
Initial teacher education has been in a state of flux and reform for the past decade, with the recent Strong Beginnings: Report of the Teacher Education Expert Panel, promising to drive more change in the sector. Driving this is the reality of a nationwide teacher shortage, concern for teacher retention among beginning teachers, and how we can both better prepare beginning teachers for the classroom.
The Serving the Future of the Initial Teacher Education conference will uniquely bring together leaders involved in initial teacher education across universities, government, education standards bodies, schools and more. You will gain insights, and learn from fresh approaches on creating flexible pathways into teaching, professional experience, emerging teaching models. We’ll unpack the important questions around ITE reforms and discuss the evidence around what works and how we can move the sector forward into the future.
