Grant has over 30 years’ experience in regulatory and enforcement agencies across practitioner, leadership, senior management, academic, and consultant roles – and has operated at subnational, national, and international levels.

Grant wrote the book Navigating Regulatory Language: An A to Z Guide – because he considered variability in the language used by those in regulatory roles was a significant barrier to effective collaboration and delivery of regulatory outcomes.

Grant is the Pracademic Advisor to ANZSOG’s National Regulators Community of Practice – and is the founder and Managing Director of RECAP Consultants Pty Ltd (RECAP), which provides specialist regulatory advisory services globally.

Brigadier McLachlan has had a 30-year career within Defence, primarily in the land engineering. In 2017 he was appointed as the Technical Regulator Authority – Land where he was responsible for the regulation of Land Materiel in Defence. In 2022 Brigadier McLachlan was appointed as the inaugural Director General Landworthiness, where he is responsible for the development and assurance of internal to Defence regulations within the land domain. He has twice been awarded a Conspicuous Service Cross for his work in engineering and land regulation. Brigadier McLachlan holds degrees in Science and Engineering and a Masters in Systems Engineering, he is currently studying a Masters in Law.

Erica has almost 20 years’ experience across central and line agencies in the Queensland Government, in policy, program management and regulatory roles. In her current role as Executive Director of the Early Childhood Regulatory Authority, her focus is on developing expert regulatory practice and embedding a contemporary risk-based approach to regulation of the early childhood education and care sector in Queensland. She was a founding committee member of the Queensland Government Regulator Network and is now an active participant in the Queensland chapter committee of the NRCoP.

Adam Dent has served as Chief Executive and board member of SIRA since July 2021, leading the regulation of insurance and care schemes in NSW.

Adam’s background spans the public, private and non-profit sectors, working as the Chief Executive Officer of NSW Trustee and Guardian and the Commissioner of Dormant Funds. He was the Director of Government and Public Sector Advisory at Ernst & Young, Commissioner of the NSW State Emergency Service, and State Manager of Emergency Services for the Australian Red Cross in Victoria.

Adam is passionate about improving customer outcomes, data and digital innovation, and transformational change. He has led significant policy reform, national and state-wide disaster and crisis response, and has a proven track record of building organisational capability and results.

Adam holds a Master of Business Administration from the Australian Institute of Business and an Executive Certificate in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School.
He also holds a Graduate Certificate in Professional Legal Studies from Griffith University and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
